BHTA to highlight importance of working with its code-accredited members to OTs at upcoming show
The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) will be highlighting the importance of consumer protection, and working with its code-accredited members, to occupational therapists (OTs) at the OT Show 2021.
Held on the 24th and 25th November at the NEC in Birmingham, the show aims to bring together the occupational therapy community, sharing new information and resources to support their clients. There are various CPD-accredited lectures and workshops for OTs to attend to enhance their clinical knowledge alongside companies exhibiting at the event to showcase their latest assistive technologies and related services to facilitate independent living.
The BHTA team will be on stand J51 to explain how member companies reassure users by voluntarily committing to the BHTA Code of Practice, the only industry-approved code under the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI)’s Consumer Codes Approval Scheme. The code affords extra consumer protection, including free mediation and independent arbitration, meaning more peace of mind for the individual.
Alongside highlighting the protection afforded to healthcare professionals’ clients by working with BHTA members, the team will also be handing out insightful information and advice for OTs, their colleagues and their clients.

It will be a great opportunity to catch up with our members and learn more about their exciting products and services, and engage with OTs to inform them about the BHTA.
“In particular, we’ll be answering questions about how our code protects clients, the value of choosing our accredited members, and exploring how we can work in collaboration with OTs to provide assistance to their clients.”
