The Astor Aquba is the newest innovation in Astor-Bannerman’s height-adjustable basin range, which boasts a stylish and compact frame to give it a contemporary feel.

According to Astor-Bannerman, the Aquba is the smallest completely integrated unit available, making it one of the most wheelchair accessible basins and ideal for under window installation.

Mark Colebrook, Managing Director of Astor-Bannerman, said: “The Astor Aquba delivers a product of the highest function with innovative features and looks that you would be proud of in any bathroom.”

Made from a smooth, Corian-style material, its unique shape at the front makes access to the basin and the taps easier and more comfortable for clients. An indented shelf at the rear is a useful addition to position soaps and other accessories that will go up and down with the basin.

There are a range of basin widths to suit individual requirements: 450mm, 600mm, 750mm and 900mm.

Designed with accessibility and functionality in mind, the Astor Aquba incorporates low-profile concealed plumbing for full under basin wheelchair access. Integrated load bearing handles offer added support to manoeuvre around the basin and are also handy to drape a towel over.

The wash basin unit has integrated controls with two custom memory recall positions, allowing the height to be altered at the touch of a button to the pre-set positions, or to any height within the range by pressing the up/down buttons.

In addition, the Aquba employs anti-trap sensors when in operation. If an obstacle is detected when the basin is in motion, it will stop and move in the opposite direction. Safety lockout functionality is also in place to prevent accidental or non-supervised operation.
