Assistive technology specialist BES Healthcare is hosting a free webinar about preventing harm across paediatric care and pressure care.

Entitled ‘Do No Harm, Know Your Power – Empowering those to prevent harm before it happens’, it is the first in a series of webinars that aim to create awareness of standards, approaches and other important factors in an increasingly commoditised market to help reduce harms related to early intervention in paediatric care and pressure care.

The webinar is free of charge and will take place on the 24th of June from 10-11.15 am.

Speakers will include Dr Barend ter Haar, who will discuss the various standards and approaches to prevent harm, and Charlotte Peck from MOVE Europe, who will introduce participants to the MOVE Programme and its benefits for early intervention in paediatric care.

Dr ter Haar will discuss BES Healthcare’s ‘Do No Harm, Know Your Power’ campaign. He will also explore the relevant standards and guidelines relating to pressure care; the importance of early intervention; pressure care and 24-hour postural management to prevent pressure ulcers; and how commercialisation is driving the commoditisation of equipment over clinical need.

Charlotte will share more about the MOVE Programme, which is a functional mobility programme. She will look at the MOVE Ethos; the six steps of MOVE; the principles and practical application of MOVE; and using MOVE to support recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
