Stiltz Homelifts will be presenting a CPD-accredited seminar at OTAC Southampton, aiming to enhance knowledge of homelifts and the community enablement it provides.

OTAC events support enhanced practice for occupational therapists (OTs) through a diverse showcase, presenting the latest assistive products and services from leading suppliers alongside CPD-accredited seminars and training workshops.

The free regional adaptations and equipment-based events bring OTs and suppliers together under one roof.

At the upcoming OTAC Southampton, attending OTs will be able to learn about how homelifts can facilitate in-home enablement through Stiltz’ CPD-accredited seminar.

Entitled ‘How a homelift can facilitate in-home enablement’, the seminar will take place from 11:30am-12:00pm in the Geberit Theatre.

In this seminar, the Stiltz Director responsible for supporting HCPs, Gino Farruggio, will illustrate how appropriate homelift provision will increase client independence, safety and well-being in the home. He will explore the assessment process along with moving and handling considerations and wheelchair suitability.

In response to the current pandemic, factors such as mental health and COVID-19 risk reduction will be additional topics of discussion in relation to homelift prescription. The educational content will be supported by evidence-based material and topical case studies for contextual reference.

Attending healthcare professionals will: reflect on the various occupational performance benefits of homelift provision; have a greater appreciation of cost and care savings associated with homelift ownership; consider positive factors beyond environmental improvements; gain enhancement of homelift prescription practices through condition-specific knowledge; and discuss future-proofed safety and long-term advantages to the NHS/social services.

Supporting the seminar, Stiltz trusted advisors will be on stand 17 to engage with delegates and offer expert advice. Free educational material will be available for OTs, including professional guides to DFG provision and legislation.

OTAC Southampton will take place on 14th October 2020 from 9am-6pm at the Hilton Hotel at the Ageas Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH.
