Healthcare professionals and carers invited to dedicated weekends for a well-deserved break

Bournemouth’s The Grove Hotel, which provides specialist holidays for guests with cancer, is running three special Healthcare Workers weekends so carers and other professionals can have a much-needed break.

Operated by Macmillan Caring Locally, the award-winning hotel is running three long-weekend Healthcare Workers Breaks in January and February.

The not-for-profit hotel has been running these special offers specifically for carers and other healthcare professionals for several years, noting that many of the professionals would not have had a break over the Christmas period unlike other industries.

Brenden Howard, Manager of The Grove Hotel, said: “The Healthcare Workers Breaks are really special events. All our staff look forward to them. Hard-working Healthcare Workers are always looking after others.

“It’s a chance for us to spoil them for a change and show how much we value and appreciate what they do. Plus it gives us the opportunity to show them what The Grove is all about so they can confidently share their experience with patients and colleagues who might also benefit from a break here.”

According to a UK workplace stress report carried out by Perkbox, a platform that aims to improve employee experiences, the healthcare industry has the third most stressed workers in the UK. 95 percent of respondents admitted that stress has a tangible impact on their lives with the most common consequence being sleep loss.

Brenden continued: “As a society, we tend to focus, understandably, on the needs of those who are ill or vulnerable and often overlook the needs of the care-givers – including the 1 in 8 adults who care, unpaid, for loved ones.

“At The Grove, we are very aware of the requirements of all our guests – patients and carers alike – and ensure that each one has a relaxing, enjoyable and truly memorable holiday experience.”

The three-night breaks are a chance for guests to enjoy a long weekend with friends, family or work colleagues at The Grove. The breaks include accommodation, breakfast, a four-course evening meal, half a bottle of wine per person per night, entertainment and a free coach trip so guests can explore a little piece of Dorset.

The Grove’s Healthcare Workers Breaks take place over three weekends: Thurs 16th – Sun 19th Jan 2020; Thurs 30th Jan – Sun 2nd Feb 2020; Thurs 6th – Sun 9th Feb 2020. Guests can book per night or for the whole weekend.
