Abacus Healthcare has received healthy numbers of specialist bath enquiries, literature requests and entries to win its company mascot ‘Trevor the Turtle’ at Kidz-to-Adultz-South.

Abacus_HealthcareAbacus, a manufacturer of powered baths, demonstrated its popular height adjustable Gemini and Scorpio baths at Kidz South to a large number of healthcare professionals and families.

The Gemini has an integrated platform for easier changing and drying and the Scorpio encompasses a bather transfer seat for safer access. Alongside these two baths, Abacus provided the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a cuddly toy ‘Trevor the Turtle’ and educational information regarding bath ownership.

Abacus believes that the provision of accurate information and advice is essential for OTs and parents so informed decisions can be made regarding suitable equipment provision.

The Abacus ‘#BathingIsBetter’ campaign provides printed and online guides on the benefits of bathing vs. showering and advice regarding funding eg. through a Disabled Facilities Grant. Informative literature from this programme was available from Abacus at Kidz South, along with case studies and guides explaining the assessment and purchase process.

Malcolm Farmiloe, Managing Director at Abacus Healthcare, commented: “Kidz South was once again a positive show for us. We were able to explain to OTs and parents why choosing an Abacus bath is not simply about purchasing a quality product, it is buying into a complete package of support. Abacus works closely with professionals, parents and bathers throughout the whole journey from initial assessment through to bath specification, install and beyond. Our educational literature was once again popular at Kidz South as were cuddles with Trevor the Turtle. We look forward to fulfilling all the enquiries we received and achieving more enjoyable bathing for all.”
