Healthcare professionals from across the UK are being asked to nominate who they believe to be the best local retailer of mobility, healthcare and independent living equipment by the British Healthcare Trades Association.

Healthcare professionals that submit a nomination could win the chance for themselves and a partner or colleague to attend the prestigious BHTA Awards Dinner if their nominee is successful, including a champagne drinks reception and a luxury three-course meal.

Focusing on retailers that healthcare professionals work with closely within their local community, the Association says it is looking for retailers that offer exceptional support to professionals when providing equipment to help clients live independently.

This equipment can include mobility products, independent living aids, beds, chairs, stairlifts, bathing or any specialist equipment that retailers provide advice and support on.

Confirming that the nomination is specifically for a local retailer that a healthcare professional works with rather than a national manufacturer, the Association highlighted that the retailer should be someone that goes above and beyond the normal call of duty and offers consistently high-quality service.

“When nominating a retailer, there may be an individual staff member who you rely on for their knowledge, experience and approach to the products and services you receive. You can also nominate an individual at the company,” said Steve Perry, Marketing and Communications Manager at the British Healthcare Trades Association.

“The retailer may have well-trained staff, an excellent showroom, wide range of products or great service facility. We are looking for retailers that help healthcare professionals do their vital work in the local community.”

Hosted by Simon Weston CBE, this year’s British Healthcare Trades Awards Dinner will be held at the Alton Towers Hotel on Thursday 29th November and will see figures from all over the healthcare industry come together to celebrate the work the industry does.

In particular, the night will feature a special award dedicated to innovation in the NHS to commemorate the Health Service’s 70th birthday.
