Etac R82 successfully delivered a varied range of practical presentations, product launches and added value opportunities at the 2018 Occupational Therapy Show, which took place on the 21st-22nd November at the NEC in Birmingham.

The main focus for Etac R82 at the exhibition was practical education to help professionals responsible for moving and handling people. Utilising solutions from across the range, international Etac Education and Product Managers, as well as UK specialists, were able to explain the latest techniques for moving, positioning and supporting people.

These on-stand demonstrations were complemented by the “Paediatric Assessment Tips” presentation delivered in the PMG Theatre by Jo McConnell, OT & Clinical Manager for Mobility & Pressure Care at Etac R82.

All seminars were well attended, reported the company, however, Ole Lindahl Thy’s sessions entitled: “Single Handed Care – Solutions for the positioning of immobile patients” proved the most popular.

Ole, a highly experienced Physiotherapist from Norway and Etac Education Manager (Transfer), combined the latest Immedia 4way Glide with the NEW Molift Air 200 hoist to demonstrate the most efficient and effective techniques for in-bed patient repositioning.

According to Etac R82, each session generated interaction with the audience and attending OTs commented that the knowledge they gained would be vital for everyday practice.

Other educational demonstrations included: ‘How, when and why use Air Cell Cushions?’ by Jo McConnell; ‘Sit to Stand Solutions – Advantages and Challenges’ by Kristin Tornkvist, International Product Manager for Transfer at Etac; and ‘Overhead Hoisting Solutions’ by Colin Williams, Category Sales Manager for Overhead Hoists at Etac R82.

In terms of products, the launch of the new Molift Raiser Pro was popular amongst visitors and feedback was extremely positive, says Etac. The sit-to-stand transfer platform was introduced alongside the new ergonomic Etac My-Loo toilet seat raiser.

Attendees on the Etac R82 stand were also able to enter a free prize draw to win a comprehensive Immedia moving and handling starter pack worth over £500. Entrants recorded videos explaining why they choose Immedia solutions, which will be published on LinkedIn and Twitter soon.

The winner was Bernadette Moon, Community OT from Birmingham, who will be having her prize delivered by Dave Wilson, Etac R82 Area Sales Manager.

A specialist in adult and paediatric mobility equipment, Etac has over 40 years of client-centric experience.
