Double Paralympian, former team GB wheelchair rugby captain and founder of the Michael Kerr Foundation, Michael Kerr, has officially announced that he will be brand ambassador for the wheelAIR cooling backrest cushion for wheelchairs.

The Scottish athlete lives in Glasgow where the wheelAIR team are also based. They plan to work together to promote the benefits of the wheelAIR as it nears market launch at the start of November and beyond.

The award-winning cushion has been designed by Staels Design with the input of Paralympic athletes, like Michael Kerr, as well as wheelchair producers. Its results have far exceeded expectations.

Michael commented, “I am delighted to officially be the brand ambassador for wheelAIR. When I first learnt about the benefits it could have for a huge number of chair users and especially for those with spinal cord injuries, I just had to get involved. It ticks all the boxes.”

The wheelAIR uses inbuilt fan technology to not only cool the back, but reduce users core temperature by taking away excess heat and moisture. This allows for instant comfort and a reduced risk of hyperthermia. The cushion also offers extra support through a unique blend of carefully selected foams.

Corien Staels, designer of wheelAIR and CEO of Staels Design said, “Seeing athletes like Michael benefit from the wheelAIR is so rewarding and reinforces how life changing it could be for so many people. We couldn’t be happier to have Michael on board as our ambassador – we look forward to what the future holds.”

Staels Design’s mission is to improve wheelchair user’s lives by designing stylish products of the highest quality.
The product will be available for purchase online from the start of November.
