Social care and health organisations across England are, this week, welcoming 20 graduates from a range of universities and courses to their year-long placement on Skills for Care’s Graduate Management programme in partnership with NHS Leadership Academy.

The graduates attended a welcome event in London where they met with their host organisations and Skills for Care Locality Managers, who will play a pivotal support role throughout the programme.

Skills for Care CEO Sharon Allen said: “Now on our eighth cohort, the Graduate Management programme has celebrated much success over the years, and I’m very pleased to say the calibre of graduates is as high as ever.”

During the one-year programme, graduates will contribute to the leadership and management of care across social care and health and achieve two fully-funded qualifications. They will also acquire the tools and knowledge to be fast-tracked into strategic leadership roles.

Sharon continued: “Our programme encourages forward-thinking graduates to experience integrated working within social care and health settings. Hosts will offer practical experience of innovating, developing solutions and managing change and help develop the next generation of leaders in our sector.

“It’s crucial we invest in new talent to drive positive change to ensure the sector is prepared to face future challenges. I’m certain each of our graduates and host organisations will benefit immensely from being part of the programme. I wish them all the best.”
