“I believe no on should face boundaries when it comes to festivals this summer.”

As the summer approaches, so too does the beginning of the festival season, with a sense of excitement for those who have booked tickets to see their favourite artists perform live on some of the world’s most iconic stages. For some however, this can be a less straightforward task.

Festivals are a time of camping, dancing and socialising, something that can create problems for those with accessibility requirements, which can often put them off. James Price, founder of AccessAllRooms.com, an online booking website for those with access requirements, offers hotels for festival goers. The website provides hotel bookers with the information they need to be able to decide whether the accommodation is suitable for their needs or not, in real time.

In attempts to make festivals more accessible, many of the mainstream events are now taking action towards improving facilities for disabled customers. V Festival, for example, now treats disabled access as a free add-on feature to any ticket, as long as details of any requirements are provided. Glastonbury and Reading alike are running a PA free ticket scheme, where the festival organisers will provide a cost-free ticket to any personal assistant that is attending alongside someone with a disability. On top of this, festivals also offer platform viewing for wheelchair users, ensuring a clear view of acts just like any over visitor.

James commented: “Despite my disability, I’m still able to lead a very independent life. I enjoy things like travelling, festivals and wheelchair rugby and it’s important to me that I don’t let anything get in my way. I believe no on should face boundaries when it comes to festivals this summer.”

Access All Rooms is a hotel booking website designed specifically for those with additional access requirements. It lists relevant information and adaptations that makes hotel booking in real time easy for disabled customers.
