Etac R82 has just released dates for its latest free training course – ‘How, when and why to use Air Cell Cushions?’ – aimed at clinicians working in the field of posture and mobility who want to deepen their knowledge of Air Cell Cushions and pressure care.

A supplier of Scandinavian-inspired assistive equipment for disabled children and adults, Etac R82 is extending its educational programme to include the Star Air Cell Cushions.

The course will be led by Jo McConnell, OT and Clinical Manager who will provide Star cushions from the Etac range for practical demonstrations.

Jo is a highly experienced OT with over 25 years of clinical practice. During this time, she has worked in paediatrics, posture and mobility within Wheelchair Services, Whizz Kidz Charity and mobility equipment manufacturers. She has great knowledge regarding complex posture and mobility issues and pressure care.

Course materials will be provided to support CPD learning and each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance.

To assist with future work in practice, professionals will be given a free Etac MultiGlide glove for easier postural and seating assessments.

Training will focus on: revisions to pressure ulcer categories and clinical reasoning; hands-on training to best solve specific clinical needs; stability demonstrations and how historic issues with air cell cushions are resolved with the Star range; case studies to highlight the clinical benefits; and hands-on instruction regarding use of pressure mapping equipment.

Light refreshments will also be provided.

The course will run on 27th November 2018, 18th December 2018 and 24th January from 9:30am-12:30pm at Unit D4A, Coombswood Business Park East, Halesowen, West Midlands, B62 8BH.
