Sidhil, the UK specialists supplying beds, trolleys and other associated furniture for the health sector, is to launch a brand-new, innovative product at the forthcoming MEDICA event and exhibition.

One of the main suppliers of hospital beds and cots to the NHS, Sidhil will launch the Innovative IQ ICU bed with X-Ray backrest on stand in E42 in Hall 14 at the trade fair for the medical industry, taking place from 14th to 17th November at the Exhibition Centre and Congress Center in Düsseldorf, Germany.

sidhil_bedThe Innovative IQ ICU bed has been designed around the four key principles of patient safety, clinical needs, infection control and ease of use. The brand-new bed aims to meet the increasingly high demands of a modern hospital environment, with split side rails an ideal feature for use in general wards, specialist areas and for high dependent patients, as they help to protect the patient from the risk of falls.

The new bed features an X-Ray translucent backrest, which includes an X-Ray cassette system to enable a smooth easy to use action. The backrest is made from polycarbonate material making it impact, shatter and corrosion resistant, while it has an easy-clean stainless steel tray and is fully adjustable to fit all universal cassette sizes. It also includes bed-end ruled measure to help position patients for X-Ray or position X-Ray cartridges, is suitable for use with C-arm X-Ray equipment and has a factory fitted option which is compatible with all side rail systems.

In addition, the split side rails provide increased patient safety when the mattress platform is flat and continues to keep the patient safe as they follow the movement of the bed. The rails can be easily lowered with the specially designed, easily identifiable one hand handle release and includes a self-lowering function, which assists the patient getting in and out of bed safely by lowering to below the level of the mattress. The Innovative IQ ICU bed, which is certified for use with Clinell wipes, is supplied with an impressive 10-year warranty when taken with a service contract or a five-year warranty as standard.

Halifax-Based Sidhil designs and manufactures all of its Acute Hospital beds, couches and plinths in the UK at its purpose-built factory, utilising the latest production equipment, such as advanced laser tube cutting machinery and robot welders, as well as sophisticated finishing processes.

At MEDICA 2016, the eighth time that Sidhil has exhibited at the event, the company is looking to meet with distributors and existing customers from across Europe and the rest of the world. Graham Turner, Sidhil Sales & Marketing Director, said: “Sidhil has an excellent reputation for working closely with our existing international distributors by offering as much support as possible when entering new markets.

“As a result of the weakening pound, oversees customers purchasing from companies such as ourselves in the UK are saving 17% on costs, so it is an extremely attractive time to develop relationships with new international distributors. We have enjoyed great recent success in the Middle East and we are looking forward to welcoming organisations from there and all over the world to become part of the Sidhil distribution team.”

For more than 40 years MEDICA has been dedicated to medical products, pharmaceutical products, medical technological products and health care service facilities and in 2015 attracted almost 5000 exhibitors and more than 130,000 visitors from 120 countries.
