Organisers of the Posture and Mobility Group (PMG) Conference have taken the “tortuous” decision to postpone their 2020 conference to July 2021, given the uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

Established in 1992, PMG was set up as a conference to advance and disseminate knowledge about the posture and wheeled mobility needs of people with disabilities.

Taking place annually, the PMG Conference provides education, an industry exhibition, and networking events for professionals working in the field of posture and wheeled mobility. Main attendees at the conferences include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and clinical scientists working with the NHS Wheelchair Services.

Originally scheduled for November 2020, this year’s PMG Conference will now take place in July 2021, with the organisers citing that they feel the decision is the right one for all concerned given the “uncertainties of the times.”

The exact dates will be confirmed shortly and posted on the PMG website

Although dates have changed, the conference will still take place at the same venue: The International Centre, Telford

As well as announcing the event’s postponement, PMG has also extended its Early Bird deadline by a further seven weeks to 1st October, 2020. However, it added that the Early Bird prices have increased to help cover the higher venue charges by moving the event into 2021.

The postponement of the PMG Conference joins a raft of other industry events that have been rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic, including Med-Tech Innovation Expo, Kidz to Adultz South and Scotland, and the European Seating Symposium.
