Select Medical chosen as finalist for NHS Excellence in Supply Awards

Mattress specialist and pressure area care products manufacturer Select Medical has been shortlisted for the NHS Excellence in Supply Awards 2018.

The Awards promote and celebrate private sector organisations working in partnership with the NHS to deliver high-quality, effective and efficient patient care, with an overall aim of helping the Health Service do more for less.

Select’s nomination comes from the work it does with Mental Health Trust Units across the North West. In line with the company’s ethos, it has introduced bespoke SelMed Crib 7 Static mattresses across multi-sites, paying particular attention to the needs of the cared for, carer and care provider.

A full management service and an ongoing project, Select Medical’s auditing, backed with a traffic light scheme, has helped identify the mattresses that need the most attention.

The company manages the process by delivering new mattresses and taking away old mattresses at the same time to reduce any inconvenience to staff and patients.

Its SelMed Crib 7 mattresses come with sealed covers and are described as clinically effective, comfortable and safe by the company.

Another key reason for being nominated, says the company, is the staff training and support it has delivered to staff and stakeholders.

Looking forward to the Awards night, Select has said it’s extremely proud to have been shortlisted and that the nomination reflects the hard work of its staff.

The Awards Ceremony takes place on the 4th October at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
