CSS MicroSystems, a German manufacturer of electronic assistive technology, has launched AMAneo BTi, an adapter that can be used to operate an iPad or an iPhone with a mouse.

Before the launch of the AMAneo BTi, disabled people had limited access to an iPad or iPhone, but CSS says that its new mouse adapter will make iOS devices accessible to all.

With AMAneo BTi, users can operate an iOS device directly with a mouse or assistive mouse, such as a trackball, joystick mouse, head mouse, thumb mouse and others. To use this adapter, people can plug in the mouse and connect the adapter to the iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth.

The iOS device’s screen automatically displays a touch pointer that gives users full control over their iPad or iPhone. There are no additional apps to install, making the setup quick and easy.

There are a number of built-in options, such as click-and-drag, auto click and click delay, helping to avoid accidentally activation of the mouse click. Two connectors for external switches are also available to operate the left and right mouse button.

Other useful features include instant access to the iOS AssistiveTouch menu, which allows the user to access various iPad functions, such as volume control and the home button, and an innovative anti-tremor function that filters hand or head trembling and ensures that the touch pointer moves smoothly on the screen.

The AMAneo BTi is charged via a USB charger and lasts up to 20 hours. The pioneering product can be ordered from CSS and its distributors and resellers worldwide.

CSS MicroSystems, based in Weinsberg, Germany, has more than 30 years of experience in the development of electronic aids for people with disabilities. The company’s focus is on products for environmental control, assistive call activation for hospital and care, as well as assistive computer access.
