Etac R82 will be offering a range of practical CPD-accredited seminars to occupational therapists on its stand at the OT Show in November.

All occupational therapists can attend each session which the company says will be engaging and rewarding, providing invaluable insight for everyday practice. As this content is part of the OT Show educational programme, attendance will count to CPD hours.

The first seminar – ‘Single Handed Care Solutions for the positioning of immobile patients’ – will be led by Ole Lindahl Thy, Physiotherapist and Etac Education Manager for Transfer on the 21st November at 12:00 and on the 22nd November at 11:00.

It involves a practical demonstration, showing how to protect the wellbeing of the carer and reduce the impact of regular handling of the service user ie to assist with pressure injury prevention.

‘How, when and why use Air Cell Cushions?’, Etac R82’s second seminar, will be presented by Joanne McConnell, Occupational Therapist and Clinical Manager for Mobility & Pressure Care at Etac R82.

It will run on the 21st November at 15:00 and on the 22nd November at 12:00 and offers a short practical guide to choosing Air Cell Cushions with clinical reasoning supporting cushion selection. ‘Hands on’ training will be available on the selection of different Air Cell cushions within the Star range.

The third seminar – ‘Sit to Stand Solutions – Advantages and Challenges’ will be led by International Product Manager for Transfer at Etac Kristin Tornkvist on the 21st November at 13:00 and on the 22nd November at 15:00.

This seminar offers a quick guide to choosing the appropriate standing equipment to help with early mobilisation of a service user.

It gives answers to the following questions: How to assess for the right overhead hoist? What type of Overhead Hoist to use and when? What makes hoisting safe, supportive and effective?

All seminars will take place on Etac R82’s stand – C70 – at the OT Show, which is held at the NEC in Birmingham from the 21st to the 22nd of November.
