New transfer-to-drive family car conversion to provide total vehicle independence for wheelchair users
Wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) specialist Lewis Reed has created a new, unique transfer-to-drive vehicle – the SEAT Alhambra – to give total independence to wheelchair users.
Access into the SEAT Alhambra conversion is simple and easy by using an automatic rear TorSpring ramp with an auto rear tailgate, which is operated remotely by using a palm-sized key fob.
The vehicle incorporates simple optional push/pull hand controls and offers an electric driver six-way seat, which enables the wheelchair user to make an internal transfer onto the driver’s seat with ease.
Additionally, the wheelchair accessible family car has been designed with space, technology and functional design in mind and, most importantly, the needs of the passengers and wheelchair user.
Compact dimensions and an “excellent” eye line make this vehicle especially easy drive and park. According to Lewis Reed, it gives users the quality guarantees that both itself and SEAT offer.
Lewis Reed added that its specialist design team have made further improvements and conversions to the cars, including being quieter, smoother and more versatile than other SEAT Alhambra conversions currently available.
