OTs to learn about latest techniques and tech in patient mobility and rehab in free CPD sessions at OT Show
In partnership with its affiliated company Rebotics Technology, Recare, a healthcare equipment specialist, will be exploring the latest techniques and technology regarding patient mobility and rehabilitation during express on-stand CPD sessions at the OT Show 2024.
This year’s OT Show takes place on 27-28 November at the NEC in Birmingham. It offers the opportunity for occupational therapists (OTs) to view the latest assistive technologies from across the healthcare sector with educational and comprehensive free CPD opportunities.
On Stand B45, Recare and Rebotics Technology will be delivering multiple and free CPD-accredited seminars for OTs. All of the sessions will be delivered by Munawar Osman, Clinical Orthotist and Training Manager at Rebotics Technology.
The first seminar is called ‘Unlocking mobility through exoskeletal technology’. It will run from 10.15am-10.30am on both days of the OT Show.
The session will introduce the Keeogo Exoskeleton, what is it, how it works, and how it can benefit patients and clinicians both in rehabilitation and personal use. It will also discuss the assessment procedure, as well as contraindications and considerations and where the device sits in terms of rehabilitation equipment.
By attending, OTs will have a basic understanding of the Keeogo and what type of patient it is targeted towards; be able to describe to patients, clinicians, and case managers where the device sits in terms of personal rehabilitation, costs, and assessment process; and understand, from a clinical perspective, how this would help OTs and patients’ rehabilitation.
The second seminar is called ‘Empowering rehabilitation through advanced functional support’. It will run from 11.30am-11.45am on both days of the OT Show.
The session will introduce the Myopro device, how it works using EMG signals, and how it helps a patient. It will look at the device and its components as well as discuss the patient profile, contraindications, and considerations. It will also discuss how patient assessment works and how it can lead to a custom device.
