Naidex, a flagship UK show for the disability community, is partnering with AT Today, the go-to source for everything assistive technology, aligning the event and title’s goals of keeping industry professionals up to date with the latest independent living innovations.

In a fast-moving sector, it can be difficult for professionals to keep up to date with the latest assistive technology developments. AT Today keeps busy health and social care professionals informed on the latest developments and innovations in assistive technology, with updates on important policy changes, examples of how collaborative working is achieving best outcomes for assistive technology service users, innovative new product launches, and much more.

Naidex is designed for three main audiences: people living with health conditions or impairments (and those who care for them), professionals looking to find assistive technology solutions from the large exhibition, and traders who buy and sell products designed for members of the independent living community.

This year’s Naidex takes place at Birmingham’s NEC from 6-7 July. Naidex 2022 expects over 9,000 visitors who will be able to experience the latest independent living solutions and daily aids, meeting with hundreds of innovative exhibitors and awe-inspiring speakers.

For healthcare professionals, there is also the opportunity to enhance professional development with the CPD-accredited seminar agenda. Running alongside the Neuro Convention, the event brings together the industry’s top educators and thought leaders for attendees to meet and learn from.

Some of the topics covered in Naidex 2022’s CPD seminar programme include assistive technology solutions for eating and drinking, website accessibility and inclusive communications, and working with rare diseases and chronic illnesses.

Other features at this year’s event include the Mobility Test Track, an area of the show where wheelchair and mobility aid users can test new products on a specially designed track of different landscapes, and the Naidex Marketplace, a new area of the show that offers affordable daily aids for people to purchase and take home.

Alongside the Naidex Junior interactive trail, another interactive opportunity at Naidex this summer is The Autism Reality Experience. This is an immersive and hands-on training experience that has been developed to give non-autistic people an experience of the sensory processing difficulties faced by people on the autism spectrum. Invented by Training 2 Care’s managing director Glenn Knight and autistic people, the Autism Reality Experience really is as true to life as currently possible, event organisers ROAR B2B says, and is changing the landscape of understanding autism.

For trade professionals supplying to the healthcare, mobility, and independent living community, they can explore the latest assistive technology innovations in the marketplace; find new suppliers in the exhibition hall; and talk directly to key manufacturers, retailers and distributors serving the sector in the Naidex Trade Lounge.
