Assistive technology specialist Medpage has launched the MPNCAK1 CMEX-21 Nurse Call Adaptor Kit, designed to enhance patient safety, independence, and dignity in care environments through the use of intelligent fall integration sensors.

The system combines the CMEX-21 wireless nurse call adaptor with the MPCSA11 intelligent monitoring controller and pressure-based bed and chair sensors. Together, they provide continuous monitoring that alerts care staff if a patient leaves their bed or chair without returning within a set timeframe, helping to prevent falls and ensure rapid intervention when needed.

The CMEX-21 adaptor plugs directly into most nurse call points and provides a cable-free connection to Medpage’s wireless care sensors. Patients are able to move independently between a bed and a chair within a pre-set time window. If the transfer is not completed in time, the MPCSA11 controller triggers an alert via the nurse call system. This approach reduces unnecessary alarms while ensuring staff are informed if assistance is required.

By using discreet, pressure-based occupancy sensors instead of cameras or wearables, the kit provides non-intrusive monitoring that supports both safety and privacy. It also offers a dual-trigger system to enhance reliability, a fail-safe design to ensure alerts are always sent, and the flexibility to be expanded for use with single patients or multi-bed wards.

The MPNCAK1 CMEX-21 Nurse Call Adaptor Kit is intended for use in hospitals, care homes, and assisted living facilities, particularly where patients have reduced mobility or cognitive impairments. It enables care teams to focus on person-centred support while reducing the number of unnecessary alarms and interruptions.

“At Medpage Limited, we’re committed to delivering practical, innovative solutions that make a real difference,” said a company spokesperson. “The CMEX-21 and MPCSA11 system is a game-changer for fall prevention—offering smarter monitoring, faster response, and greater comfort for patients.”

The kit provides customisable transfer timeframes tailored to individual care plans and quick setup for care teams.

Last year, Medpage, which trades as Easylink, launched crash mats that are designed to reduce injuries from bed falls.
