UK-based specialist hospital beds manufacturer Medstrom is hosting a free CPD-certified webinar for healthcare professionals this month about the proactive use of therapeutic support surfaces.

The webinar, ‘Time to Act: Keep Skin Intact’, is running from 2pm-3.30pm on 26 January 2023. Interested participants can register here.

The session will provide a space for thought-provoking discussions, the exchange of evidence-based research, and practical experiences among healthcare professionals and their peers. In addition, the benefits of early adoption will be discussed and how it can make the difference between prevention or treatment of skin damage.

During this webinar, real-life examples will be examined to show how early adoption of surface technologies prevented harm rather than waiting for damage to occur and addressing it reactively.

This CPD-accredited session is supported by three speakers from the field of tissue viability. Each speaker will share their insight, case studies, and protocol examples that allow them to proactively use support surfaces in patient care.

There will be presentations from Julie Tyrer, Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant at Liverpool Heart and Chest NHS Foundation Trust; Deborah Wickens, Lead Nurse Harm Free Care at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust; and Lorraine Thursby, Service Lead Tissue Viability for George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

Healthcare professionals will have the chance to ask questions at the end of the webinar with all speakers.

Medstrom is a UK manufacturer of specialist hospital beds and the only independent provider of bed management services to the NHS, managing over 25 percent of the UK’s acute bed and mattress fleet.

Last year, Medstrom ran several CPD webinars for healthcare professionals, with topics including pressure ulcer reporting and pressure ulcer prevention in dark skin tones.
