CPD-accredited webinars on sleep solutions for children and adults with complex needs
Manufacturer and supplier of sleep systems Safespaces is set to host a series of CPD-accredited webinars that provide healthcare professionals with an opportunity to learn about the range of high-sided beds and safe-sleep and relaxation spaces available to adults and children with complex needs.
Not only will healthcare professionals and occupational therapists (OTs) attending the webinar earn one CPD point for each seminar attended, but they will also have the ability to identify key benefits for the user, their families and carers as they investigate case studies where successful outcomes have been achieved.
The webinars will include product demonstrations of solutions and review key legislation and guidance on the appropriate use of a Safespace. Attendees will also find out more about the funding streams and long-term cost savings available.

The first of the series, for education professionals, ‘Creating Safespaces in Schools’, takes place on Wednesday 13 July at 15.45pm.
It will provide an overview of the Safespace multi-purpose safe room and how it can be used effectively in a school environment to prepare pupils for learning.
Attendees will explore how the Safespace can be used as an effective tool to deliver a sensory diet, support behaviour self-management, and reduce restrictive interventions
The second webinar, aimed at healthcare professionals, parents and carers, titled ‘Challenging Behaviours, Sensory Processing and Sleep Disorders’, takes place on 27 July at 11am.
Focusing on the Safespace multi-purpose room, the supplier will provide a detailed product demonstration covering the key features and explain how the product can be fully customised to meet the needs of the user.
The session will explore the benefits of the Safespace, including improved sleep, behaviour self-management, and how it can be an effective tool to deliver a sensory diet.
With a time and date yet to be confirmed, ‘Creating Safer Environments: An Introduction to Safespaces Products’ is suitable for healthcare professionals, parents, and carers. It is an ideal introduction to Safespaces and its products, providing an overview of the Safespace multi-purpose room, the specialist high-sided beds and travel products.
The webinar will also explore how each product is designed to meet complex needs and share case studies to demonstrate the positive outcomes achieved for clients.
Aimed at healthcare professionals and also yet to be confirmed, ‘Reducing Restrictive Interventions’ will explore how a Safepace can be used as a tool to reduce restrictive interventions and support behaviour self-management.
Focusing on the appropriate and effective use of the Safespace, the webinar will cover key legislation and provide guidance to help achieve successful outcomes for the user and their carers.
‘Assessment, Design and Funding: Meeting the needs’ has not yet been CPD accredited and is aimed at healthcare professionals who are not sure how to specify a Safespace product for a client.
The webinar provides an easy guide covering in detail the initial user assessment, product selection, and designing the product to ensure it meets the complex needs of the user and their carers. It will also include an overview of the many funding streams available for Safespaces products provided.
Hosted by experienced product advisors, there will also be an opportunity to ask questions during each webinar.
