Etac R82 has reported OT Show success after delivering CPD-accredited manual handling seminars and showcasing its largest ever assistive equipment portfolio to attending occupational therapists at the event.

Boasting a custom-built and spacious stand at The OT Show, Etac R82 provided a welcoming environment for OTs to experience education and demonstrations.

Throughout the event, presentations were hosted by a range of international specialists who highlighted the latest techniques for effective movement and support of disabled adults and children. OTs were able to gain knowledge to enhance everyday practice and to ensure clients benefit from better outcomes through appropriate product provision.

Etac’s practical sessions included:

  • Sit-to-Stand – Early Mobilisation
By Ole Lindahl Thy, Etac International Education Manager – Transfer
  • In-bed Systems – Single Handed Care Techniques and Tips
By Anette Repenning Raun, Etac International Product Manager – Transfer
  • The Importance of choosing the right spreader bars with an Overhead Hoist
By Colin Williams, Category Sales Manager – Molift Overhead Hoists
  • Swift Mobil 2 – reducing the costs of special shower chairs
By Jo McConnell, OT and Etac Education Manager

In terms of products, Etac R82 displayed examples from the Etac, R82, Molift, Immedia, Convaid and Star brands with solutions for mobility, seating, sit-to-stand transfers, hoisting, in-bed management, toileting, bathing and independent living.

Attendees were able to discuss individual client needs with Etac product specialists and discover the latest innovations within the Etac portfolio. Single-handed care was a common topic along with long-term strategies that deliver sustainable, cost effective care. The durability and efficient re-issuing of Etac products was highlighted to illustrate the long-term value gained by specifying solutions from this established specialist.

Jon Preater, Managing Director for Etac R82 in the UK, commented: “It was a pleasure to see so many professionals, peers and contacts benefiting from our educational programme at the OT Show.

“Our new larger stand facilitated engaged learning and the opportunity to understand more fully why Etac products provide better outcomes in appropriate scenarios. We will be delivering even more added value to our brands in 2020.”
