Closomat, a leading provider of accessible toilet solutions, will host a webinar next week on safe toilet transfer presented by occupational therapist Kate Sheehan.

The CPD Qualified topic ‘Supporting Safe toilet transfers through adaptation and design’ will examine a range of aspects to cover during a client assessment; occupational therapy interventions to improve independence; and relevant regulations, legislation and design guidance.

Webinar attendees will be set to gain a greater understanding of the tasks undertaken on the toilet and review what OTs should cover during an assessment of a client’s transfer ability.

With falls costing the NHS almost half a billion pounds a year and fragility fractures costing £1.1 billion a year in social care, according to Closomat, the session will aim to help improve individuals’ safety and dignity.

The session will also include a Q&A between Kate, the former chair of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section on Housing, and Larry Beale, Product Specialist for Closomat.

It will take place on the 30th April 2020 at 11:00 am.
