Firefly launch the Firefly Therapist Roadshow 2015-16

Firefly by Leckey have launched a series of free Therapist Roadshow events which will give therapists across the UK their chance to try all Firefly products for free, including the much sought-after Upsee.

The Firefly Therapist Roadshow offers therapists their choice of a two-hour or half-day session featuring demos, presentations and a Q&A with the Firefly team.

The Upsee sparked global excitement after its launch last year as it gives many children with motor impairment a chance to develop their strength, weight-bearing ability and confidence. Although not designed to teach children to walk, it helps many get into an upright standing position and potentially reach important new milestones in their developmental journey.

There has been a surge in demand for the device from parents worldwide, but therapists have had few opportunities to assess its suitability. Firefly sell products exclusively online, a strategy employed to shorten the supply chain and keep the overall cost of products as low as possible for parents. As a result there are few opportunities for therapists to assess the device, until the Firefly Therapist Roadshow was announced.

Firefly are now teaming up with therapists across the UK and Ireland in the Therapist Roadshow. Planning of tour dates and venues is underway to ensure every therapist who requests an assessment session has access to one, either in their own facilities or nearby.

As well as assessing the Upsee with their clients, therapists will also be able to try all the devices in Firefly’s ‘special needs family participation’ range. Many therapists and families will book slots with the Roadshow team to assess the GoTo seat, a postural support; Playpak, a floor-based play therapy system; and Scooot, a 3-in-1 mobility rider.

Therapists will be able trial all Firefly products with their clients, as well as discussing all questions or ideas with members of the Firefly team.
As with most of Firefly’s projects, The Firefly Therapist Roadshow is a collaboration with parent company, Leckey, a long-established brand in the world of special needs equipment, and creates an exciting new channel through which therapists can access equipment and influence future developments.
