Free Disabled Facilities Grant CPD seminar to take place at the OT Show
The Occupational Therapy Service, an independent private practice in the UK, will be presenting an express on-stand seminar at the OT Show.
This year’s OT Show takes place on 27-28 November at the NEC in Birmingham. It offers the opportunity for occupational therapists (OTs) to view the latest assistive technologies from across the healthcare sector with educational and comprehensive free CPD opportunities.
On stand D10, Lucy Leonard, an OT and Director of The Occupational Therapy Service, will present a CPD-accredited seminar about the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG).
Entitled ‘More than just numbers: How to manage and reduce your occupational therapy DFG waiting list’, the session will take place from 10.30am-10.50am on 27 November and from 12pm-12.20pm on 28 November.
By attending, OTs will understand the wider impact of having a smaller waiting list; be able to evaluate the difference between using locums and outsourcing waiting lists to an independent OT company; and critically analyse the consequences of bringing in outside assistance to assist with waiting list management.
Lucy has 25 years’ post graduate experience in occupational therapy, including over 20 years in statutory services working as a clinical specialist and leading multidisciplinary teams. Consequently, she has a broad and thorough understanding of health and social care systems across the UK. Lucy has worked for 10 years in the private sector carrying an eclectic caseload of people with a range of neurological, orthopaedic, and polytrauma diagnoses, finding creative ways of meeting an individual’s goals and providing occupation-focused rehabilitation.
Established in 2004, the Occupational Therapy Service is a UK private occupational therapy company providing international support for case managers, solicitors, insurers, retailers, equipment manufacturers, and individuals in the community.
