Precision Rehab, a UK supplier of paediatric powerchairs, will be exhibiting at this week’s Kidz to Adultz event in Coventry, where it will be showcasing several paediatric solutions to attending healthcare professionals and carers from its comprehensive range of powerchairs.

Visitors to the paediatric event will be able to see some of the specialist powerchair solutions available for disabled children and young people, with features available including tilt-in-space with anterior tilt, lying down options, standing options, tight turning circles, and fully adjustable solutions.

Taking place on Thursday 17th March 2022 from 9.30am-4.30pm at the Ericsson Exhibition Hall in the Coventry Building Society Arena, Kidz to Adultz Middle is a popular exhibition that showcases the latest products and services to assist people up to the age of 25 with restricted mobility.

Organised by the charity Disabled Living, the regional event is also a chance for healthcare professionals to gain CPD accreditation by attending educational seminars.

On stand A6, Precision Rehab will be showcasing the Paravan PR35S, which the supplier says is the smallest standing powerchair currently available in the UK.

With a chassis width of 57cm and maximum user weight of 80kg, the PR35S is a genuine paediatric-sized powerchair for children and smaller people. Standard powered features include lying, seat lift, tilt-in-space with anterior tilt, recline backrest with incorporated anti-sheer, and elevating leg rests.

The PR35S has been crash tested to ensure it can be safely used in vehicles with tie-down or docking systems. Whether at home, in school or out and about with family and friends, the PR35S is a suitable powerchair for any child or smaller person who also requires a standing function. The controls have memory settings that store favourite positions. Also on show will the non-standing PR35.

In addition to the Paravan PR35S, Precision Rehab will display the versatile Piccolino powerchair. The Piccolino offers three different seat options – the K110, K120 and the adult K130 – with a maximum weight capacity of 120kg. This choice of seats means there is a comprehensive choice of seat widths (160mm to 420mm), seat depths (26mm to 460mm), and back heights (330mm to 480mm) respectively.

Additional features include side supports, head support and other seat accessories, all of which are multi-variable and individually adjustable to ensure each Piccolino powerchair is built to meet the individual needs of the client.

To meet the tastes of younger users, the Piccolino is available in a choice of vibrant paint finishes. Optional features include individual seat cushions, electric gyro stabilisation and additional control unit.

Finally, the powerchair specialist will be showcasing the SANGO Slimline Junior and SANGO Advanced Junior, which feature a compact chassis for tight manoeuvres indoors combined with great traction and comfort for outdoor use.

They are available in either mid-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive to ensure the best chassis option can be selected, depending on how and where it will be used.  The rubber suspension system offers an “almost silent” drive and the high comfort levels by absorbing vibrations from general surfaces as well as larger bumps from rougher outdoor obstacles.

Both Sango Junior models are fitted, as standard, with four-pole high torque motors to provide a great drive and high manoeuvrability levels and smoothness. They also provide a range of motor speed options for slower indoor use or a faster drive outdoors.

The unique five-wheel mid-wheel-drive chassis option further enhances indoor manoeuvrability with tight turning circles available.

Both models also feature the SEGO junior seating system, which is fully adjustable to individual requirements, and a range of seat cushions, backrest cushions and other accessory options allow for optimal comfort and postural support to be achieved.

A full range of powered options can be selected including powered seat tilt, powered seat lift, powered backrest recline, powered anterior seat tilt, powered centre mount leg rest, or powered individual leg rests.

The Junior and Advanced Junior have both been tested according to ISO 7176-19 and are approved for passenger transport in a vehicle.

Precision Rehab Director Matthew James commented: “The event is always great for us as it allows us to demonstrate our powerchairs to potential users along with their parents and carers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere – something we have struggled to do during the pandemic. It is also a great opportunity to catch up with many existing clients who are actually more like friends.”
