Oticon Xceed power hearing aid

Visitors to the 2019 European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) congress, which takes place on the 16th-18th October in Hannover, Germany, will have the chance to see two new power hearing aids designed for severe-to-profound hearing loss by hearing aid provider Oticon.

Oticon offers hearing care professionals a full power portfolio, from fitting level 105 to the new fitting level 120, and for the first time ever, power hearing aid users are provided the Oticon open sound experience.

Visitors can see the new Oticon Xceed power hearing aid for adults and the new Oticon Xceed Play paediatric hearing aid on Stand 311 in Hall 3A at EUHA 2019.

The two new hearing aids will be demonstrated alongside the Oticon Opn S, which is designed to enable people with hearing loss to enjoy speech understanding in noisy venues at a level on par with normal hearing. Oticon Opn S features the new OpenSound Optimizer, a system which prevents audible feedback without sacrificing audibility.

Due to a unique patented feedback breaker signal, Oticon Opn S delivers up to 6dB more stable gain, which, according to Oticon, gives hearing care professionals the freedom to deliver users optimal gain and to provide more open fittings than before, without the risk of feedback.

The Oticon Xceed power hearing aid is the “world’s most powerful hearing aid”, says Oticon, delivering the highest gain and output in the industry: 146 dB SPL MPO and 87 dB full-on gain.

An industry first, Oticon Xceed with Oticon’s BrainHearing technologies, OpenSound Navigator and OpenSound Optimizer improves speech clarity by 10 percent, reduces the listening effort that power users struggle with in most situations every day by 10 percent, and increases short term recall by 15 percent.

In addition, the new Oticon Xceed Play hearing aid helps children to better benefit from incidental learning and provides better conditions for speech understanding and language development.

Both of Oticon’s new power hearing aids bring anew approach to hearing care for super and ultra-power hearing aid users of all ages by:

  • Providing 360° access to speech.
  • Delivering optimal gain with a fitting of 6 dB more stable gain, providing up to 20 percent (Oticon Xceed) and 15 percent (Oticon Xceed Play) more speech cues to the brain.
  • Ensuring consistent access to speech by preventing feedback and reducing the daily gain reductions that occur up to 50 percent of the day to alleviate feedback from dynamic situations such as placing a phone to your ear or wearing a hat.
  • Significantly reducing disturbing noise by applying fast and effective noise reduction
  • Integrating 2.4 GHz Bluetooth® low energy for high-quality streaming of sound to both ears from devices such as TVs and smartphones.

EUHA visitors are also invited to speak with Oticon representatives about Oticon RemoteCare. The new remote hearing after-care service adds to existing clinic services, enabling hearing care professionals to stay close to hearing aid users while saving them the time and effort of going to a clinic for check-ups, hearing aid adjustments, counselling and advice.

“With the launch of the two new Xceed instruments we are ensuring those that depend entirely on their hearing aid receive all the support they can get,” said Ole Asboe Jørgensen, President of Oticon brand, global. “With the products we have launched within the past year we now offer a complete hearing product portfolio.

“We are very excited to have made the open sound experience available for all users, from mild through to profound hearing loss, in all styles, and are very proud to offer hearing care professionals such a comprehensive product range featuring the most updated technology for their patients.”
