The series of the Kidz exhibitions is expanding its remit to support adults up to the age of 25 years with a new name of Kidz to Adultz.

WebThe exhibition organisers, Disabled Living, say that the move mirrors the recent changes in legislation with the implementation of the Children & Families Act 2014.

The expansion programme will start at Kidz to Adultz Up North, EventCity in November 2015 and then be introduced to all the subsequent Kidz exhibitions. An additional seminar programme will be introduced, dedicated to providing CPD and information seminars to support young adults in their transitional years.

The Kidz shows are a well-established one day exhibition dedicated to children with disabilities and special needs, their parents, carers and professionals who support them. The exhibitions were established 14 years ago by Manchester based charity, Disabled Living and have seen visitor numbers increase to over 3,500 to the free one day event.

Debra Evans, Chief Executive of Disabled Living said: “The shows will include exhibitors from the housing, higher education and employment fields together with domiciliary care services, personal budget brokers and accessible vehicles to those providing holiday and travel options and so much more.”

A series of shows have been developed over the years – Kidz South in Reading, Kidz in the Middle at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry and Kidz Scotland at the Highland Showground, Edinburgh. Plans have just been finalised to introduce a Kidz Wales to the calendar in 2016.
