Rochdale Borough Council sensory awareness day image

Providing expert advice and information for individuals with sensory difficulties, Rochdale Borough Council will be holding its free annual sensory awareness day on the 14th of August 2019.

The council will also display a range of assistive technologies at the event which help people remain independent in their own homes.

Residents with sensory impairments are encouraged to attend the free event to discover the range of sensory services provided by the council’s adult care team, as well as local NHS providers and charities.

In addition, the day boasts stalls packed with information, free hearing screenings and sensory equipment demonstrations.

Sensory experts will also be available throughout the day to answer people’s questions and offer advice and support.

Councillor Iftikhar Ahmed, Rochdale Borough Council’s cabinet member for adult care services, said: “The council has a fantastic team in adult care, working tirelessly to support and help people with sensory needs.

“This is a great opportunity for people with a sensory needs to find out more about the high quality services, help and advice we have available throughout the year.

“I am sure it will be another interesting and informative day.”

The sensory awareness event takes place on the ground floor of Rochdale Borough Council’s Number One Riverside building in Greater Manchester on the 14th of August from 10am-3pm.
