Tunstall Healthcare has announced a new agreement with PPP Taking Care to become the technology partner for its Personal Alarm Service, delivering connected care technology to bring peace of mind to users and their families across the UK.

PPP Taking Care supports people to stay at home independently for longer. This new agreement means individuals joining the service will receive additional support in the form of Tunstall’s telecare technology.

Service users will receive a specially branded Lifeline Vi home unit as well as a MyAmie personal pendant with a distinctive grey button.

The Lifeline Vi provides a hub for telecare in the home, compatible with a wide range of sensors which can be chosen according to the needs of the user. Key benefits of the platform include 24-hour monitoring and support, customised alerts and reminders, and simple installation.

Additionally, the MyAmie is a small, discreet, wearable pendant which allows the user to raise an alarm if they are in difficulty at home or in the garden.

Gavin Bashar, Managing Director UK & Ireland at Tunstall Healthcare, commented: “Tunstall is delighted to be working with PPP Taking Care, bringing together our expertise to provide a quality telecare experience to users who need it most.

“We look forward to developing our partnership over time, introducing new products and services and delivering a more streamlined, person-centred care programme across the country.”

It’s also planned that PPP Taking Care clients will benefit from a range of telecare sensors, including smoke, flood and personal fall detectors that can be worn around the neck or on the wrist, raising an alert if it senses the user has fallen.

Steve Gates, Managing Director of PPP Taking Care, said: “We chose to work with Tunstall as we are committed to putting customers at the heart of innovative telecare solutions that save lives. Tunstall’s leading technology allows us to provide a first class, reliable service to our customers, helping them to remain safe and independent in the homes they love.”

PPP Taking Care has been providing personal alarm services for more than 30 years, helping people stay safe in their homes across the UK.

The company provides the Age UK personal alarm service and in March 2019, it took over the running and management of Careline from Chichester District Council. Now, PPP Taking Care provides telecare for clients in 20 local authority areas.
