Powered mobility specialist Motion Healthcare has added a new entry-level lightweight folding powerchair – the Aerolite – to its expanding product portfolio, providing an affordable and transportable solution for users.

Centring on a simple, straightforward design, the Aerolite is aimed at users who travel and are looking for a combination of indoor manoeuvrability while still being comfortable on pavements and in shops.

Offering a stripped-back option to its successful Foldalite range, the new powered wheelchair continues the focus on transportability, weighing only 22kg or 19.5kg with the lithium battery removed.

The powered wheelchair also boasts fold-up height-adjustable armrests, fold-away footrest and anti-wheels, an easy-to-remove joystick and an attendant control option.

“The idea behind the Aerolite is to expand our range of folding powered wheelchairs,” explained Tim Mills, Head of Business at Motion Healthcare.

“The Foldalite range sits at the top end of that category, however, we know that there are plenty of clients that still want that same quality of product but in a stripped-back, lighter form available a lower price point. Our Aerolite ticks all of those boxes.”

The Aerolite is also suitable for air travel, making it a good choice for those looking to go abroad.

According to Motion Healthcare, despite its entry-level price point, the new powered wheelchair also boasts features seen on more advanced and heavier powerchairs.

“One of the key aspects of the Foldalite which clients appreciate is its ease of use so we wanted to ensure that being straightforward and uncomplicated is at the heart of the Aerolite,” continued Tim.

“With our new model, users can fold or unfold the chair with a simple pull or push and it comes with a single lithium battery which comes with its own charge socket, allowing customers to charge the battery off-board.”
