Bradshaw Junior

Complementing the company’s market leading, UK-manufactured range of Inspiration cots, Sidhil has introduced a purpose-designed electrically operated paediatric nursing care bed, developed around the specific challenges of paediatric nursing and accommodating younger patients safely and comfortably in a hospital, nursing or community environment.

Known as the Bradshaw Junior, the new bed fills a gap in the market for nursing care beds developed expressly for paediatric use. This electrically operated bed has been carefully designed on a compact, scaled down basis to meet the needs of the paediatric environment, retaining all the operational and clinical benefits of its bigger cousin, Sidhil’s established Bradshaw nursing care bed.

Sidhil has designed in a bright and colourful appearance for the bed to match the more domestic requirements of the paediatric environment, together with specially designed full padding sets using child friendly materials and featuring an attractive jungle scene. The fully profiling mattress platform has a variable height range from 280mm to 710mm (to top of mattress platform) to facilitate most nursing procedures, together with a variable tilt and knee break.

The Bradshaw Junior bed is designed in compliance with IEC 60601-2-52:2009. The profiling action enables the backrest and kneebreak sections to operate in harmony to reduce pinching in the sacral area, reducing shear and friction to combat pressure ulcers and avoiding the possibility of the occupant slipping down in the bed.

Three bar, full length integral and adjustable wooden siderails ensure optimum occupant safety, and can be released at both head and foot ends for ease of use. The handset has a simple lockout function, and the bed is easy to move and maneouvre with four locking swivel castors.

The Bradshaw Junior bed measures a compact 200cm in length and 90cms in width and is also suitable for small adults, with a generous maximum user weight of 180kg (28 stone) designed to cater safely for parents sitting or lying on the bed and wishing to cradle children in their arms. Sidhil offers a three year warranty on the bed (first year parts and labour, second and third years parts only). Where a Sidhil service contract remains in place, this warranty can now be extended as far as ten years fully inclusive of parts and labour.
