Healthcare specialists Sidhil will be participating in a busy programme of product demonstrations and learning events for their latest paediatric care products at this year’s OT Show alongside the exhibition’s Paediatric Trail.

This is Sidhil’s first time exhibiting at the show, bringing an important new range of products developed especially for this sector, including the Bradshaw Junior bed. The new bed has been designed to fill the existing gap in the market for nursing care beds designed expressly for paediatric use.

A number of current paediatric bed solutions are adult options with padding systems. The Bradshaw Junior has been developed around the specific challenges of paediatric nursing and accommodating younger patients safely and comfortably in a hospital, nursing or community environment. Whilst a completely new product, it retains all the operational and clinical benefits of its bigger cousin, Sidhil’s established Bradshaw nursing care bed.

The bed is available in a bright and colourful appearance, as well as full padding sets using child-friendly materials and featuring an attractive jungle scene.

These aesthetic considerations are designed to complement operational benefits, with the Bradshaw Junior featuring a fully profiling mattress platform with a variable height range from 280mm to 710mm (to top of mattress platform), facilitating most nursing procedures, together with a variable tilt and knee break.

This profiling action enables the backrest and knee break sections to operate in harmony to reduce pinching in the sacral area, reducing shear and friction. To keep smaller occupants safe, the bed features full-length integral and adjustable wooden side rails.

The Bradshaw Junior bed measures a compact 200cm in length and 90cms in width and is also suitable for small adults, with a generous maximum user weight of 180kg (28 stone) designed to cater safely for parents sitting or lying on the bed and wishing to cradle children in their arms.

OTs can already acquire the Bradshaw Junior bed off contract as a ‘special’, which requires a separate quote and involvement of purchasing teams to procure. To speed up the process, Sidhil is already working closely with Equipment Review Groups around the UK to have the Bradshaw Junior bed specified for relevant catalogues, which will enable OTs to order the beds direct from loan stores. End users wishing to purchase the beds can do so directly through one of Sidhil’s distributor partners, located across the UK.

Alongside other established paediatric products such as the award-winning Inspiration Cot, Sidhil will also be demonstrating their new Solite Pro bed, which now incorporates a redesigned four section profile offering improved alignment with the human anatomical structure.

The Occupational Therapy Show will be taking place on 23/24 November 2016. Find out more about the Occupational Therapy Show HERE
