Taking Care wins Stonewater contract image

Taking Care, one of the largest digital monitoring services in the UK, has just signed a three-year technology-enabled care (TEC) service contract with housing provider Stonewater to enable vulnerable residents to live independently and safely.

As part of the contract, Taking Care will be providing 24/7 monitoring services to more than 3,500 Stonewater clients.

The emergency resolution team at Taking Care will support those living in Stonewater’s retirement living properties by responding to individual personal alarm calls, as well as managing the monitoring of smoke alarms and emergency pull cords across whole community schemes.

Emma Tobin, Head of Wellbeing at Stonewater, said: “The monitoring service gives real peace of mind to customers, their family and carers. In these difficult times when family and friends have been unable to visit and provide support, this service is absolutely vital to enable individuals to continue living safely and independently and with the confidence that help is on hand if needed.”

Taking Care was appointed following a rigorous procurement process executed by the Northern Housing Consortium Framework.

Stonewater’s evaluation panel selected Taking Care for its “outstanding” quality, price and communication, with skilled operators that are able to speak to people with a wide range of medical conditions, including supporting those with dementia.

Steve Gates, Managing Director of Taking Care, commented: “We’re delighted to be working with such an innovative and well-respected organisation as Stonewater. It is clear that the safety and security of their residents is absolutely top priority and we’re pleased that our 24/7 award-winning service will provide them with high quality all-round protection and peace of mind.”

“Stonewater is a large forward-thinking organisation, that is truly planning ahead with its digital journey for technology in its supported living schemes, and dispersed alarms. Stonewater chose Taking Care because it was confident in our abilities to resource and deliver high quality, safe services for its tenants and leaseholders from our Emergency Resolution team.

“The onboarding process has been an open and productive relationship and we greatly look forward to the future working together.”

A subsidiary of AXA Health, Taking Care provides around the clock TEC services to over 75,000 people throughout the UK.

In October, the TEC provider secured a contract to provide 24/7 response services for Brain in Hand’s digital support app for people with learning disabilities.
