Accessible toilet specialist Closomat is concluding its clinical webinar series this year with a session to reflect on Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) waiting times and the subsequent impact it has on occupational practice.

Ending the year with a session on the impact of DFG waiting times on occupational practice raises a key issue in the current psyche of the healthcare landscape, according to Closomat.

The CPD-accredited webinar, ‘DFG waiting lists, and impact on occupational therapy practice’, will take place on 8 December at 11am. It will be repeated at 6pm for those that cannot make the earlier presentation.

Visit the Closomat website to book a place for the webinar.

The webinar will cover: consideration of the current stresses on services and reviewing impact on therapist and client; reflection on whether practice changes have impacted on occupational therapy processes and/or standards; a review on current resources, physical and financial, and challenges meeting demand; and discussions of opportunities for collaboration to support the needs of service users and those waiting for assessment.

Robin Tuffley, Marketing Manager at Closomat, said: “Our aim has been to cover topics that are of course relevant, but that fit within specific disciplines that OT’s work within, i.e. Paediatrics, Older People, Plus-size and Moving & Handling. This way our content can count towards CPD.”

Using a variety of one-hour clinical topics and half-hour pre-recorded practical sessions, Closomat has engaged with thousands of occupational therapists (OTs) and other healthcare professionals over five webinar events in 2022.

Recently, Closomat hosted a free webinar for OTs that focused on bariatric clients and wash and dry toilets.
