After the NHS Long Term Plan highlighted respiratory disease as a clinical priority, CloserStill Media has unveiled the launch of its new Respiratory Show, which will take place on 9th-10th October 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham.

The NHS Long Term Plan highlighted respiratory disease as a clinical priority area, giving new focus to improving delivery of care. The document identified late diagnosis, variation in service provision, geographic and socio-economic inequalities, rising emergency admissions and poor international comparisons as challenges to be overcome.

On the back of the Plan’s revelations, along with extensive research in this area, CloserStill decided to launch The Respiratory Show.

With lung disease ranked as the UK’s third highest killer and mortality rates stable for over a decade, respiratory care presents a growing challenge to those tasked with improving outcomes in the UK.

CloserStill felt that the respiratory community is in need of an event that allows professionals in this specialty area to be able to meet, learn, network, enhance skills, share best practice, and plan for the future.

This Respiratory Show supports the NHS Long Term Plan and aims to provide: better training for those who deliver respiratory care; better uptake and availability of pulmonary rehabilitation; and provision of appropriately resourced respiratory care closer to home.

The event will deliver a UK-wide audience of clinicians in primary care and secondary care, ranging from GPs, consultants, respiratory nurse specialists and clinical pharmacists, commissioners, service managers and other professionals who are responsible for the delivery and quality of respiratory care.

Delegates will have access to over 30 hours of free training aimed specifically at the needs of respiratory professionals across both primary and secondary care. Additionally, The Respiratory Show will provide advanced clinical accredited CPD training at no cost to the delegate.

CloserStill takes pride in having provided NHS professionals from across occupational therapy, pharmacy, dentistry, primary and secondary care with more than £16 million worth of free training and aim to continue to do so.

The launch of The Respiratory Show offers exhibitors a valuable opportunity to be part of a solution-based event and engage with senior commissioners, providers and those involved with the delivery and transformation of respiratory services.
