Free NHS wheelchair event in Yorkshire brings users and professionals together to discuss personal wheelchair budgets
A free event taking place on the 5th of September will be celebrating personal wheelchair budgets for wheelchair users and their friends, family, carers and healthcare professionals.
The event has been organised by NHS East Riding Of Yorkshire CCG, NHS Hull CCG, East Riding Of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council and is encouraging people to come along to see the difference personal wheelchair budgets can make to an individual’s life.
Users and healthcare professionals will be on hand to discuss how personal wheelchair budgets can increase people’s independence.
To add to the day, there will be a variety of workshop sessions available to attendees:
- Introduction to personal wheelchair budgets – Find out about personal wheelchair budgets, how to get a personal wheelchair budget and the benefits of them.
- Service user experience – Listen to service users who have received a personal wheelchair budget and how it has helped and supported them along with the opportunity to ask questions.
Workshops will take place during the morning of the event and repeated in the afternoon and people are encouraged to register interest in the workshops at the event.
In addition, the latest innovations in wheelchairs and accessories will be on display at the event.
The NHS wheelchair event will take place on the 5th of September from 10am-4pm at Bridlington Spa, South Marine Drive, East Riding, YO15 3JH.
