Medstrom impact of falls on the elderly webinar image

Specialist hospital beds manufacturer Medstrom is hosting a webinar in September about the impact of falls among the elderly population, which is aimed at multidisciplinary teams caring for elderly patients.

Entitled ‘Impact of falls amongst the elderly population’, the webinar is taking place on 29th September 2021, 14.00-15.15 BST. The insightful webinar will focus on risk reduction and falls’ injury mitigation.

After the success of three webinars so far in exchange 2021, Medstrom is continuing its series, providing a space for thought-provoking discussions, evidence-based research and practical experiences amongst healthcare professionals and their peers.

Three guest speakers with particular expertise in falls prevention and mitigation will share their passion.

Dr Prasanna de Silva is a psychiatrist with an interest in patients with dementia and delirium. He will focus on risk reduction for this high-risk group.

Ed Tank will focus on collaboration and the remarkable effects that joint working between the community and acute sectors can achieve for patients, patient maximisation through exercise and an evidence-based approach to intervention.

Dr Denise Shanahan is a consultant nurse with experience of preparing reports and giving evidence at coroner’s court. Denise will demonstrate the “human” cost of falls through example case studies.

Questions can be raised in the remaining part of the webinar with all speakers.
