Mobility Service Engineer – Mobility Hire – UK wide (Based in Gloucestershire)

Location: (UK Wide) Based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Overview
Mobility Hire are looking for a hands on, customer-service focused Mobility Service Engineer. This is a varied role with a mixture of days in the warehouse in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, and out on the road visiting customers all over the UK. The ideal candidate will need to have a mechanical or electrical background, enjoy problem solving and have a passion for customer service. You will be responsible for the service and repairs of mobility equipment such as powered wheelchairs, mobility scooter, rise & recliner chairs, hospital beds etc.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out repairs, servicing, and LOLER testing etc on a wide range of mobility equipment – both in-house and on-site at customer locations.
- Diagnosing mechanical or electrical faults and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
- Delivering and installing new equipment at customers’ homes, including training where needed.
- Supporting warehouse operations: assessing and maintaining rental equipment, organising stock, and preparing equipment for dispatch.
- Ensuring service documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Working closely with the Service Department Manager to plan site visits and schedule daily tasks.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with mobility equipment or similar mechanical/electrical products is a must
- Full clean UK driving licence – essential (you’ll occasionally be driving a company van)
- Excellent customer service skills – friendly, approachable, and respectful in people’s homes
- Basic understanding of health & safety and safe manual handling procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Comfortable using mobile apps or digital forms for service records and job logging

This is a full time, permanent position. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8am -5pm. Pay is between £27,500 – £31,500 depending on experience and knowledge.
