New ground-breaking digital health platform to launch
The company behind the Dr Now and Now GP apps is launching a new digital health platform, but this time it’s free to all NHS patients with chronic care conditions.
Now Healthcare Group (NHG) has announced the forthcoming launch of a new ground-breaking primary healthcare and pharmacy platform; Now NHS.
By working with qualifying NHS CCGs, surgeries and practices, Now NHS will be able to deliver more convenient and accessible healthcare to over 15,000,000 patients with chronic care conditions, completely free of charge nationwide, via a new innovative “all-in-one” primary care mobile app and online service.
Features of the service include:
· Remote video consultations with MRCGP-certified, NHS-trained GPs
· Medical adherence platforms to help users manage their medicine usage
· Repeat prescription services and free medicine delivery nationwide
· In-app chat facility and triage service to connect worried patients to GPs and nurses
According to the company, Now NHS is set to revolutionise the way that millions of people across the UK access care and medicines, providing an end-to-end healthcare solution to bring convenience and accessibility back to the industry.
The model is completely free to the patient and is scalable due to its technology and no estates requirement. It is aligned with the improved delivery of the five domains of the NHS framework and supports the NHS Five Year Forward View implementation.
The Now NHS service offers unrivalled benefits to both the health service and individual patients. It ensures the cost-efficient and effective use of NHS urgent care services, lowers the number of face-to-face consultations and reduces dependence on acute urgent and emergency care in hospital, as well as the amount of avoidable time people spend in healthcare settings.
The new Now NHS service is set to launch in mid-September, backed by a heavyweight multi-format media campaign targeting specific chronic care patient groups.
CEO and Founder of Now Healthcare Group, Lee Dentith, said: “We are incredibly proud to be introducing what is truly a game-changing platform for the healthcare industry. By providing revolutionary access to convenient healthcare and medicine delivery to over 15,000,000 individuals, Now NHS will empower people to manage their own healthcare through our industry-leading technology, whilst reducing the strain on our country’s increasingly overstretched CCGs, surgeries and GP practices.”
