Skills for Care has updated their “Good and outstanding care” guide which supports adult social care providers to improve their service and prepare for inspection.

The guide, which reflects changes to CQC inspections in November 2017, draws on tips and practical examples from providers already rated good and outstanding. Additionally, the updated guide shares lots of learning to help other employers improve their CQC rating and the services they offer to the people they work with.

According to Skills for Care, some of the shared learning is simple and effective, whilst others are innovative and transformational, but they can all make a difference to staff’s motivation and confidence too.

Developed in collaboration with a range of adult social care employers rated good and outstanding, the guide offers further input and insight from the CQC who also provide a foreword from Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care.

Skills for Care’s CEO, Sharon Allen, commented: “Skills for Care has helped services to prepare for inspection so their workforce has the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide high quality care and support.

“This updated edition reflects the further changes to CQC inspection introduced in November 2017. It offers a wealth of knowledge designed to help any employer be a good or outstanding provider.”

The guide is available as a free online edition or as a printed copy of the extended workbook edition that includes activities to help implement changes in organisations, which is available to buy.
