Postural support specialist provides ‘life-changing’ equipment donation for charity
Sheffield-based Jiraffe has donated state-of-the-art equipment and items worth more than £6,000 to a leading regional children’s charity.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice was the recipient of a Jenx Ly-On – a positioning platform for children with complex postural or medical needs worth more than £5,000. This was donated by Jiraffe – the UK distribution division of Jenx, a leading postural support equipment supplier.
Additionally, Jiraffe donated several items of exhibition furniture worth over £800 to the hospice that will provide a range of benefits to visitors.
The donation includes an accessible children’s library shelf and a ‘help yourself’ trolley designed to store children’s toys and art supplies.
The Jenx Ly-On provides a platform to build a structured yet safe and comfortable posture for users quickly and easily with no tools required, and will be used by residents at Bluebell Wood.
Matt Sheridan, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Jenx and Jiraffe for their generous donations that help change the lives of children who visit Bluebell Wood for respite care.
“At the hospice we look after children with life-threatening and life-shortening conditions who sometimes have very limited mobility, so the products Jenx design, build and manufacture really do make a huge difference.
“At Bluebell Wood we’re all about making magical memories for families in the often all too limited time they have together, so we’re incredibly fortunate to have had so much fantastic equipment donated by Jenx and Jiraffe that really does help enrich the lives of those in our care.”
Since 1982, Jenx has been researching, designing and manufacturing developmental postural equipment to support children with specific postural needs.
Holly Jenkins, Jiraffe Divisional Director, added: “Bluebell Wood is a charity close to our hearts at Jenx and Jiraffe – especially as we share the same passion at our core.
“We are excited to have been able to help support their incredible work, and we hope that this donation is valuable to the charity and all its residents and visitors.”
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is also Jiraffe’s official charity partner for 2020, with the company also a member of the charity’s 365 Business Club – which is open to local, regional and national organisations.
For a donation of £1 per day, members of the 365 Business Club receive access to further perks courtesy of Bluebell Wood, whilst also supporting the hospice through a variety of means.
