“An innovative residential lift that allows people to lead an independent life at home”

Terry Lifts’ Lifestyle Home Lift has recently won a total of three awards at the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) Awards and the North East Cheshire Business Awards.

The BHTA Awards were presented on the 3rd of December at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel in London, while the North East Cheshire Business Awards ceremony was held on the 19th of November at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The Lifestyle Home Lift won the Independent Living Design Award and was highly commended for the Best Product / Service Innovation Award at the BHTA Awards. Whilst at the North East Cheshire Business Awards, the Lifestyle Lift won bronze in the Innovation and Design category.

Innovation, safety and compliance earn praise

The BHTA Awards were given in recognition of companies, products and individuals who are supporting people to live more independently. Competing entries included everything from positioning systems through mobility and stairlifts, to improving access to sexual health services, orthotics and tele-healthcare.

The independent judging panel, chaired by Ray Hodgkinson MBE (Director of Public Affairs, BHTA), described the Lifestyle Lift as “an innovative residential lift that allows people to lead an independent life at home; with a small footprint, it is easy to use and looks elegant”.

Although there are many home lifts on the market, the Lifestyle Lift stands out in terms of its safety features and compliance with standards, which did not go unnoticed by the judges. The fire protection of the lift has been tested and certificated by an independent Fire Research Centre. The lift has also been independently tested and certificated against the Machinery Directive, a legal requirement when the lift travel exceeds 3 metres. It also complies with BS5900:2012 where applicable.

Continued success with positive sales outlook

The physical award was received in person by John McSweeney, Marketing & Export Director at Terry Lifts. “We are delighted and honoured to receive this recognition”, John said. “It is a great culmination of the success we’ve had over the past 3 years since the product’s launch.”

Several hundred units have been sold in the UK and overseas to date and the outlook for the current financial year is good, with strong interest both in the domestic and in the export market. “Following a successful previous year, we’re currently on track to meet or exceed this year’s targets”, John says.

The company continues to design and innovate new products for independent living. It has recently introduced the Vivendi Home Lift concept, an upcoming fully enclosed through floor lift model that can accommodate a wheelchair user for the private market.
