Adjustable care cots and beds specialist Theraposture is set to host its next CPD webinars focused on cot bed prescription.

The live CPD masterclass webinar will discuss practical and theoretical recommendations to achieve better outcomes for children, families and carers.

Shaun Masters, Independent Occupational Therapist (OT) and Equipment Specialist, will host the webinars entitled: ‘Confidence in cot bed prescription’ on 11 and 12 July.

The first webinar will go live from 9:30-10:15 Monday 11 July 2022; the second webinar will go live from 12:30-13:15 on Tuesday 12 July 2022.

By attending the webinar, healthcare professionals will: learn how to prescribe the most appropriate cot bed for their client; appreciate why modular designs provide future-proofed care and support; have a greater understanding of the wider implications of achieving good sleep as an occupation; and explore why certain assistive cots are relevant to particular conditions.

Other topics that will be covered are: clinical assessment considerations; better manual handling and safer working heights; the role of specialist safety padding; gathering of evidence-based successful outcomes/case studies; cot grants, loans and provision; and understanding legislation.

All professionals who attend will receive a CPD certificate and reflective log for their educational portfolios.

Qualified in 2011, Shaun is an active local authority OT responsible for delivering community-based re-enablement. He also works with Theraposture to provide clinical guidance and a CPD educational programme for fellow healthcare professionals.

Shaun’s latest forthcoming Masterclass webinar will focus on paediatric sleeping solutions and how to identify the most appropriate adjustable cots for a variety of client scenarios.
