Assistive bath provider Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions will be offering the latest information regarding its free Abacus Academy CPD education for healthcare professionals at Kidz to Adultz South.

Kidz to Adultz South takes place on 17 May 2022, 9.30am-4.30pm, at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Led by associate occupational therapists (OTs) from The OT Service, the Abacus educational CPD programme provides a range of webinars, seminars, workshops and online material focused on assisted bather and client care. These free training resources will be on display at Kidz South with senior Abacus representatives explaining how to access the academy and gain CPD hours.

The fleet of spacious Abacus demonstration vehicles continue to provide Covid-safe training environments with baths onboard for clinical and client assessment.

The Next Abacus Academy webinar is called: ‘Bridging the gap in sensory integration using bathing – challenges and opportunities’. It will be hosted by Jacqui Waller, OT, on 25 May 2022, 12pm.

On stand C3, the Gemini 2000 bath will be displayed – winner of the ‘Excellence in Caring’ Award at the OT Show. This variable height, two-metre bath is a larger version of the Gemini 1700 and provides future-proofed bathing for disabled adults and children. Its unique ‘double lift action’ and integrated changing, drying and bathing platform ensures easier transfers and enhanced safety for both bather and carer.

During Kidz South, Abacus will be able to offer more detailed private client assessments and bath demonstrations in its nearby training vehicles. Part of the Abacus fleet, these educational vehicles have a variety of products onboard for moving and handling presentations and bather assessment. Hence if professionals or families require an appointment that is nearby, the Abacus product specialists can attend with their vehicles before or after the show.
