Community equipment specialist Medequip has formed a new partnership with an independent organisation that gives people a voice to improve and shape health and social care services, Your Voice in Health and Social Care (YVHSC).

In 2022, the partnership plans to recruit a mixed panel of representatives across London to help improve Medequip’s community equipment service, which is currently covering over 200,000 people in 21 London Boroughs.

The aim of the new monthly panel meetings will be to bring together service users, their relatives and carers with community experts to help Medequip better understand what the company is doing well, areas in need of improvement, and help to cooperatively develop a progression plan for the services.

To ensure the best outcome for Medequip service users and those involved in their care, the panel’s role will be to advise, guide and support the project in a collaborative manner, supported by YVHSC delivering on decisions made by the panel.

Medequip is urging service users, their relatives and carers, as well as community experts from relevant charities, communities and voluntary sector groups, to consider joining the panel in a bid to improve the service across London.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 23rd March, meeting monthly for approximately six months to complete the initial work.
