BAPO Prosthetist of the Year Award image

The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) has announced that nominations are now open for its North Sea Plastics Prosthetist of the Year Award.

This award is for a prosthetist who consistently goes the extra mile for patient satisfaction or has a great understanding of what their patient needs. It could be for a prosthetist who has excelled in research or overcome barriers to allow them to carry out their duties, BAPP highlights, or a prosthetist who consistently designs excellent and innovative prosthesis.

The prosthetist can be nominated by anyone, be it their manager, a clinician, a fellow prosthetist, a technician or a patient.

The winner will receive a prize of £200 and free registration to the BAPO Conference 2021 (virtual).

To nominate somebody for the Prosthetist of the Year Award, people should tell BAPO in under 300 words why the prosthetist deserves to win.

People can nominate a prosthetist by the association’s nomination form here.

This can be emailed back to BAPO via enquiries@bapo.com or posted to the secretariat at: BAPO, Unit 3011 Mile End Mill, Abbey Mill Business Park, Paisley, PA11JS

The deadline for entries is 1st September 2021.

The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) was established to encourage high standards of prosthetic and orthotic practice. It is committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD) and education to enhance standards of prosthetic and orthotic care.

The association represents the interests of prosthetic and orthotic professionals and associate members to their employers, colleague Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and all groups that are involved in the field of prosthetics and orthotics.

During the pandemic, BAPO called for prosthetic and orthotic services to be protected so they could continue to operate and to ensure that an appropriate number of prosthetists and orthotists were protected from redeployment.
