Specialist social care technology company Just Checking has won the Midlands Innovation of the Year award at this year’s Midlands Business Awards for its activity monitoring solution.

Just Checking provides digital activity monitoring technology for health and social care professionals, helping them to enhance the quality of social care they deliver to people with dementia, learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs.

Now in its 16th year, the Midlands Business Awards celebrates exemplary business talent in the Midlands.

The judges selected Just Checking after being impressed by its Just Roaming digital sensor technology, which is a personalised, real-time monitoring and alert system that allows adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independently and safely within supported living homes.

Just Checking Director Amy Lewis said: “We’re extremely proud to have received this award. Everyone at Just Checking works so hard to ensure our technology helps provide the best care and support to people, and we’re seeing some very positive outcomes for the people and care professionals who use the system.

“Thank you to everyone who has worked with and supported us over the years – we look forward to continuing our important work together!”

Just Roaming uses sensors installed in a property to send live alerts to a mobile phone app. A roaming support team can oversee and respond to a group of flats or homes within a closed geographical area. Alerts can be highly personalised, and the user can be safe in the knowledge there is support when they need it.
